Heritage Coffee is run by Sunny and a team who make the place what it is. They are the reason the regulars keep coming back.
Hi, I’m Sunny! I love creating a welcoming space where people can enjoy great coffee, good food and friendly conversations. Heritage Coffee is more than a cafe to me: it’s a place where our community can come together and feel at home. I want every customer who walks through the doors to leave with a smile and a reason to come back.

The building · 1884
Built for the harbour. Kept for the coffee.
Our home went up in 1884 as the offices of the Otago Harbour Board, on land that had been harbour only a few years before. Many locals know it as the old Harbour Master's building.
It has been a shipping office, a seed merchant's and a stock agent's head office. Through all of it, the arched windows have looked out on the same corner of Vogel and Jetty Streets.

What to look for when you visit.
- Arched windows on both floors, the signature of the Renaissance Revival style
- The small pediment on the Vogel Street side, above where the front door used to be
- The Jetty Street entrance, moved there in the 1936 Art Deco remodel
- Inside: old brick and the arches again, best seen from a window table
